In line with our founder's vision, Mercy Hospital is dedicated to serve those who are unable to access quality medical facilities. To put the vision into action, our rural clinics offer free healthcare services to 40% of our patients who are unable to afford medical expenses at all. Beside basic medical care, Mercy Hospital also provides free cleft palate / lip surgeries and free monthly medical treatment to children suffering from Thalassemia and Leukemia. Hence the hospital has aligned itself with the responsibilities of spreading healthcare to the remote areas of the state.Thus, Mercy Healthcare is committed to serve the populace in the Eastern region of India. ‘Compassion with Excellence’ is its motto.
Started in 2004 as a specialized program, Mercy Healthcare has successfully operated on over 1600 children needing a Cleft Lip & Palate repair in partnership with Smile Train( a US based organization providing corrective surgery for children with cleft lip and palate) since 2007. The hospital’s plastic surgery team has become a champion of this initiative and their commitment has transformed many a child’s life. Keeping in mind the need to provide comprehensive care to these children, work is undertaken with children and their families to provide speech therapy and dental work, when necessary.
As a part of its Social Responsibility Mercy Healthcare has initiated ‘Project Rhino’ which is providing disadvantaged children with basic education, nutrition and healthcare. In 2014 the initiative grew to 700 children in Kolkata and its surrounding areas in the age group of 3 to 16 years.

Mercy Healthcare nurtured and sustained a unique healthcare delivery model through a network of 17 rural clinics. They are low cost and subsidized treatment model delivered through partnerships collaborated through six urban clinics centres and a competitively marked to market’ priced delivery model for sustainability through multi- specialty hospital.
Over the years, Mercy Healthcare has also provided care to children suffering with Thalassemia. Every month there are close to 125 children who are receiving consultation at the highest clinical level.
The Hope Small Business Project is a simple, but effective program founded on the belief that by providing alternative job opportunities, women at risk for the illegal sex-trade industry will be able to support themselves in healthier and productive ways. The project employs women to manage and operate a Laundromat that processes linens for Mercy Hospital
