Treatment

The health needs of children are extremely unique and different. In addition, today, more than ever before, there is increased incidence of prematurity and low birth weight, increased prevalence of chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma and developmental disorders, a growing prevalence of childhood obesity and an ever increasing need for pediatric superspecialities such as Cardiology, Neonatology, Orthopedics and Endocrinology. And to manage this need, we have not stopped with providing merely the best of expertise. A lot of thought has gone into making the process of healing as child-friendly as possible. The ambience, the mood, the culture have all been shaped around the young patient.

Excellent paramedical support is available like physiotherapy, dietetics, nutrition, child guidance, etc. The centre has well equipped pediatric and neonatal intensive care units comparable to the best in the world.

The Paediatric Surgery Centre is experienced in sophisticated operations that are unique to children and babies. Many infants that come to Mercy Hospital were born with cleft palate and congenital heart abnormalities, and require the highly skilled interventions that this centre provides.

Facilities

The Paediatric Centre was specially created with a child’s heart and imagination in mind. Whether a child stays in a general, shared, or premium bed for a night or visits frequently for routine blood transfusions, the doctors and nurses at Mercy Hospital seek their smiles while attending to their health. Important services offered to children range from cleft lip or palate surgery to leukemia and thalassemia treatments. Additionally, child diabetes, obesity, and thyroid clinics are held regularly.

Inspired by young ones with chronic diseases who must spend a lot of their time at the hospital, Mercy Hospital has a vision to construct a “Dream Centre” as a division within the Paediatric Centre. In addition to the colorful and cheerful ambience that the Paediatric Centre provides, the Dream Centre will function as an area for activities and memorable experiences that will bring special joy to recovering young patients.
