Mercy Hospital provides Medical Support to the ROTARY RUN 2018 organised by Rotary Clubs along with Kolkata Police. The aim of this run was to salute the sacrifice, commitment and passion of the Differently-able people who have been participating in Paralympic Games since 1968 and have been winning many medals for the country. Also a salute to the Police who sacrifice their life to safeguard our Nation. The Run was organised to create awareness on World Disability Day.
It was a pleasure for the Mercy Hospital team to be a part of this noble gathering and provide medical support who were running for a cause
Mercy Healthcare at the CSR: Implementation, Evaluation and Impact Measurement Training organized by CII. The 2 Day Workshop was inaugurated by Mr Sanjay Prasad, Chairman-CSR Subcommittee, CII, Eastern Region.
Interesting sessions by Mr Sachin Joshi, Director, CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development on CSR Vision, Strategies, Project Implementation, SROI and Impact Measurement.
The Day 2 of the workshop consisted of visit to Madhabpur Village for a briefing and experience of the Houshold Sanitation project "NIRMAL GHAR" by Aditya Birla Capital and also a visit to Hatisala village for experiencing the Poverty Alleviation project targeting the hardcore poor to help run various enterprises by Bandhan Konnagar.
Mercy Healthcare has started a unique concept of “Train the Trainers” with the First Aid Program in the month of November. This campaign involves the training of the people who can go back to their community and ensure they reach out to other and train them with the skills and techniques of First Aid.
The “WASH among the children in Kolkata: Commitments, Actions and Pledge” of Mercy Healthcare has added another fold to the Awareness, Practice, Implementation and Commitment to the health and hygiene of the children. Mercy Hospital is reaching out to the school that houses approximately 120 underprivileged children at Bidyadhar Girls High School and Home. The WASH Initiative has been a fundamental part of our organization. Since 2016 a campaign is designed each year to take the program to a step ahead. The initiative aims to reach out to a large mass of children and people and make them more aware of the importance of HAND WASH.
5th November 2018 was a memorable day for Mercy School of Nursing, as the day witnessed the Lamp Lighting Ceremony of 50 budding student nurses. It’s an auspicious occasion in every nurses life which is held in reverence to Florence nightingale, who is called as “lady with the lamp”. This ceremony initiates the student nurses into the noble profession. The special occasion was graced by the presence of Mr. Sanjay Prasad (Executive Director) and Mrs. Ruhi Prasad (CSO). The candle was lit by Mrs. Ruhi Prasad and then, Principal and Vice Principal passed the light to the student nurses, denoting the transfer of knowledge and wisdom from one generation to the other. With the lit candles in their hand they took the Nursing pledge and then students sang the nursing dedication song.
