Mr. Sanjay Prasad, President & CEO, Mercy Healthcare speaking at the 'CEO Keynote Panel - Perspectives on Business and Human Rights' at CII's Eastern Regional Conference on Business and Human Rights. The Welcome Address was given by Mr. J. S. Kochher, Joint Secretary (Research & Training), National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the Inaugural Address was given by Justice Mr. Darmar Murugesan, Member, NHRC & Former Chief Justice, Delhi High Court. Mr. Prasad envisioned for the need of creating a value system and then driving the same from a personal standpoint right through the entire organization. He mentioned that violation of human rights occur in everyday situations and sometimes it is overlooked at the cost of damaging the ethos and DNA of the organization. He encouraged Head of Organizations and specifically Business Owners to be actively involved in the 'People Processes & Practice' at the end of the day, whether an SME, Financial Services or Healthcare, it all boils down to being a People Business.He stressed on being responsible and choosing the right people to be empowered as leaders, "Who you Hire and Who you Promote is Who you Become." - HBS Mr. Prasad encouraged all organizations present to take a step forward in this noble initiative and congratulated the members of NHRC for conducting this Conference.Other members on the Panel were Mr. Subir Chaki, Whole time Director, McNally Sayaji Engineering Ltd. and Mr. Barun Patra - AVP Operations, Varun Beverages, while the session was chaired by Mr. S. C. Sinha, Member NHRC. Mr. Susanta Sen shared on the role of CII in the area of highlighting the need for transparency and ethical practices in Healthcare. Mr. Virat M. Mehta, Advisor-HR, Change Alliance Pvt. Ltd. shared on diversity and integrity about differently able members into the team.
